Harvest for the Hungry

We at Lady Bug Natural Brand want to do our part to assure that people in our own back yards have food to eat. On a visit to our customer Logan’s Trading Post in Raleigh, North Carolina gave us inspiration. Logan’s Trading Post encourages customers to bring in extra vegetables harvested from their gardens. They also encourage customers to participate in their Plant a Row for Hungry, see In the of fall 2010 we began collecting non-perishable food items at any event Lady Bug Natural Brand participated in, and by December of 2011 we collected a little just under 1,000 lbs. of non-perishable food. We will continue to do this. If you shop at our store and manufacturing location in Dripping Springs please stop by and drop items off will forward them to Helping Hands in Dripping Springs and the Good Samaritan Center in Blanco. These items can fresh or non-perishable. If you are a business owner we encourage you to do this at your store location. This will make a big impact on your local food pantries!!!

In conjunction with food drives we have begun participating in building community gardens through the State Agrilife programs. We have assisted several of the Master Gardener’s build community gardens to help those that are less fortunate. Master Gardener Programs exist throughout the South; you can find one nearest you by visiting the Agriculture University website in your State.

Remember it is our responsibility to make a difference and pay it forward!!!

Happy Gardening!
